What do the DoseRoutine calculators do?

They convert between units. Given the amount of peptide in a vial and how much bacteriostatic water you added, they convert a prescribed amount in milligrams or micrograms into syringe units and milliliters. They do not tell you what amount to take — that comes from your clinician or your protocol.

How do you calculate peptide reconstitution?

Divide the total peptide in the vial by the volume of bacteriostatic water you add to get the concentration. For example, 5 mg of peptide in 2 mL of water is 2.5 mg/mL. On a U-100 insulin syringe, 1 mL is 100 units, so 2.5 mg/mL means each 10 units draws 0.25 mg (250 mcg). The reconstitution calculator does this arithmetic for you and shows the syringe reading.

How many units is my dose on an insulin syringe?

Units equal your amount divided by the concentration, multiplied by 100. With a 2.5 mg/mL solution, a 250 mcg amount is 0.25 mg ÷ 2.5 mg/mL = 0.1 mL = 10 units on a U-100 syringe. Enter your vial size, water volume, and amount and the calculator returns the unit reading directly.

How do I convert testosterone mg to mL?

Divide the amount in milligrams by the concentration of the vial. Testosterone cypionate is commonly 200 mg/mL, so 100 mg is 0.5 mL, which reads 50 units on a U-100 syringe. The TRT converter handles 100 mg/mL, 200 mg/mL and custom concentrations, including weekly amounts split across two injections.

Are the calculators free and do they store my data?

They are free, need no account, and run entirely in your browser — nothing you type into a calculator is sent to or stored by DoseRoutine unless you choose to save it to a signed-in routine.

Do these calculators recommend a dose?

No. They are unit converters. They convert an amount you already have into a syringe reading. DoseRoutine does not recommend amounts, and nothing on these pages is medical advice.

What these calculators are for

Every calculator here exists because the arithmetic behind it is where people make expensive mistakes. Reconstitution turns a milligram figure on a vial into a mark on a syringe, and a decimal-place error in that conversion is a tenfold dosing error rather than a rounding problem. Unit conversion between milligrams, micrograms and insulin-syringe units is the same hazard in a different form.

The tools are deliberately transparent. Each one shows the formula it used and the intermediate values, not just the answer, so you can check the result against the vial in your hand. A calculator that hides its working is impossible to sanity-check, and sanity-checking is the entire point.

How to use them without getting caught out

Read the vial, not the protocol you were sent. The two numbers that drive every calculation are the milligrams actually in the vial and the volume of bacteriostatic water you add, and copied protocols routinely assume a different pairing than the one on your bench. Change either number and every unit figure downstream changes with it.

Match the syringe to the draw. A dose that lands at three units on a 100-unit insulin syringe is hard to measure accurately, and the fix is a more dilute mix rather than a steadier hand. The calculators show the draw size so you can spot that before it becomes a habit.

  • Concentration = milligrams in the vial ÷ milliliters of diluent added
  • Insulin-syringe units are hundredths of a milliliter, not milligrams
  • Re-run the numbers whenever the vial size or the diluent volume changes
  • Aim for a draw large enough to read clearly on your syringe markings

Saving the result instead of rewriting it

A calculation is only useful once; the mix it describes lasts weeks. Saving a result to a vial in the app keeps the concentration attached to the physical vial, tracks how much is left as you log doses, and starts the clock on how long the reconstituted product has been in the fridge.
