HCG Dosage Calculator
HCG is measured in international units rather than milligrams, but the reconstitution math is identical — treat 1,000 IU as 1 'mg' in the calculator below and the unit conversions hold exactly.
This is a unit converter. It converts an amount you already have into volume and syringe units. It does not tell you what to take, and it is educational only — not medical advice. Confirm every amount with your clinician and your product label.
Example mixes to try the converter
Examples only — not recommended amounts. These fill in a vial size and diluent volume only — never an amount to inject. Enter the dose your clinician gave you yourself.
Calculator inputs
Total compound in the vial.
Volume of bacteriostatic water you reconstitute with.
Enter your target dose as a number.
U-100 = 100 units per mL (standard). U-40 = 40 units per mL.
- Enter your target dose as a number.
HCG concentration reference (mg/mL)
What each vial size becomes at common bacteriostatic water volumes.
| Vial | + 1 mL | + 2 mL | + 3 mL | + 5 mL |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5 mg | 5.00 mg/mL | 2.50 mg/mL | 1.67 mg/mL | 1.00 mg/mL |
| 10 mg | 10.00 mg/mL | 5.00 mg/mL | 3.33 mg/mL | 2.00 mg/mL |
| 11 mg | 11.00 mg/mL | 5.50 mg/mL | 3.67 mg/mL | 2.20 mg/mL |
HCG doses reported in research
The figures below are doses reported in published clinical trials or, where no human trials exist, ranges reported anecdotally. They are reference data only. DoseRoutine does not recommend doses — your prescriber decides yours.
| Phase | Dose | Frequency | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| TRT adjunct | 250–500 IU | 2–3× weekly | Used to preserve testicular function and fertility. |
| Fertility protocols | 1,000–2,500 IU | 2–3× weekly | Prescriber-directed; monitored with bloodwork. |
| Post-cycle | 500–1,000 IU | Short course | Restart protocols vary widely. |
| Monitoring | — | Every 8–12 weeks | Oestradiol can rise; total testosterone and E2 are tracked. |
Reference ranges reported in the literature and in common practice — not a prescription, and not personalized advice.
What trips people up
- In the calculator, enter 1,000 IU as 1 mg — the ratio math is identical, so a '5 mg' vial mixed in 5 mL means 1,000 IU/mL and 250 IU = 25 units.
- HCG must be refrigerated after reconstitution and is generally treated as good for around 30 days.
- HCG raises oestradiol in some men on TRT — bloodwork matters more here than with most peptides.
- HCG is prescription-only. Purity and dose accuracy from unregulated sources are a real risk.
How the math works
- Concentration (mg/mL) = vial mg ÷ bacteriostatic water mL.
- Volume per dose (mL) = dose mg ÷ concentration.
- Syringe units = volume × 100 on a U-100 syringe, or × 40 on a U-40 syringe.
- Doses per vial = vial mg ÷ dose mg. Water volume never changes this number.
HCG calculator FAQ
How many units is 250 IU of HCG?
At 1,000 IU/mL (a 5,000 IU vial mixed with 5 mL BAC water) it is 0.25 mL = 25 units on a U-100 syringe. At 2,500 IU/mL (5,000 IU + 2 mL) the same dose is 10 units.
How much BAC water for a 5,000 IU HCG vial?
5 mL is the cleanest option because it gives 1,000 IU per mL, making the arithmetic trivial: 250 IU = 25 units, 500 IU = 50 units, 1,000 IU = 100 units.
Why is HCG used alongside TRT?
Exogenous testosterone suppresses LH, which shuts down testicular signaling. HCG mimics LH, so it is used to maintain testicular volume and fertility during therapy.
How long does mixed HCG last?
Refrigerated at 2–8 °C, reconstituted HCG is typically treated as usable for around 30 days. Never freeze it and never leave it at room temperature.
